Assistance with Self-Care (NDIS)

Live with dignity, every day

At United For Care, we understand how important personal care is to your overall wellbeing. That’s why our NDIS Assistance with Self-Care services are built around trust, respect, and supporting your independence—whether you need help with a few tasks or round-the-clock personal care support.

What is Assistance with Self-Care?
This NDIS-funded service helps people with disabilities manage daily personal care tasks they may not be able to complete independently. These supports fall under Core Supports, more specifically, the Assistance with Daily Life category.

Support may include:

  • Personal hygiene (showering, bathing, grooming)
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Support with toileting and continence care
  • Assistance with eating and drinking
  • Mobility and transferring (e.g., from bed to wheelchair)
  • Medication reminders
  • Meal preparation

Our support workers provide in-home personal care that is sensitive, reliable, and tailored to your preferences and routines. For some participants, self-care also includes assistance with daily personal activities in SIL homes or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) settings.

Support tailored to your needs
We provide:

  • Morning and evening routines
  • Overnight self-care assistance
  • Toileting and continence management
  • Support with bathing and grooming routines

You’ll be matched with a dedicated team member who understands the importance of privacy and consistency when delivering personal care assistance.

Respectful and professional carers
All of our support workers are trained in delivering safe, respectful assistance aligned with NDIS Practice Standards. They support your independence without rushing you—because we know that a calm, respectful approach makes all the difference.

Support that evolves with you
Whether your needs increase or decrease over time, we’ll update your support plan so you always get the right level of help.

Beacon of hope for our family when my sister suffered a stroke that left her non-verbal and with a permanent physical disability. Their dedicated and compassionate team provided quality care and emotional support, bringing hope and normalcy back into our lives.
