Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a type of NDIS funding and support to help you with daily tasks to live as independently as possible whilst building your skills. We provide SIL supports in your own apartment within our Vertical Village model.
Some of the supports covered by SIL:
We will help you find a home that caters to your needs, making sure you can enjoy your stay and community.
Depending on your particular needs support is available for meeting the necessities of life in your own home.
Be supported in personal care activities like showering, dressing and hair grooming.
Assistance with completion of housework, for example, cleaning, organising and more!
Ongoing skills development to help you achieve your independence goals!
Support to get you out of the house, such as a trip to the shops, cafes or the park.
With United for Care, Short Term Accommodation is a stepping stone into longer term independent living. It is an ideal solution if you’re waiting for funding or want to try something different and develop new skills. The NDIS will usually approve 28 days of STA funding per year depending on your current living situation.
Medium Term Accommodation is temporary funding in your NDIS plan that covers accommodation costs during times of transition or change. To be eligible you must have a home you are moving into and you need somewhere to live in the medium term until those arrangements can be made i.e. building modifications. The NDIS may cover up to 90 days for Medium Term Accommodation. The United For Care difference is that we provide care and support alongside your accommodation in our Vertical Villages.
Individualised Living Options allows you to choose the home you live in and set up supports in a way that works for your needs, although it does not cover the home itself. ILO is a great option if you’re not currently eligible for Supported Independent Living (SIL).
United for Care allows you to tailor a package of supports that can help you live the way you want to in the home you have selected.
Specialist Disability Accommodation is a range of housing options designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.
At United for Care, we specialise in providing a range of high quality contemporary, accessible, apartments for participants with SDA funding in their plan, making independent living a breeze.
Experience the next level of care in beautiful apartments and communities.

I'm here, I'm safe and I've got a place to call home. I've got an incredible care team around me that understand my needs and it's amazing! Very grateful for United for Care!
This team is the Gold Standard. The staff have a good handle on comorbidity of cognitive impairment, mental health, substance use and challenging behaviours. It’s what makes them so aspirational. I worked with one of their clients in crisis homelessness intermittent with incarceration & hospitalisation. He would disappear and reappear. This man is now present, engaged, has a home, no criminal matters. His quality of life has improved.
United for Care became a beacon of hope for our family when my sister suffered a stroke that left her non-verbal and with a permanent physical disability. Their dedicated and compassionate team provided quality care and emotional support, bringing hope and normalcy back into our lives. They celebrated her progress and, most importantly, helped her find her voice again. We are forever grateful for their support.
